Mit ihrer aktuellen CD Coming Home betritt Yungchen Lhamo Neuland. Zu oft hatte sie ihre Stimme auf modernen Samplern kraftlos und erdrückt wiedergefunden. Nun wählte sie ihre Mittel selbst: Instrumente ohne Bünde, wie Cello, Bass oder Geige, die ihrem pentatonischen Gesang freien Raum lassen. In Zusammenarbeit mit dem belgisch-französischen Produzenten Hector Zazou wurde Coming Home kein liebloses Cross-Over, sondern echte Synthese: von Anfang bis Ende dicht komponiert, mit feinen Spannungsbögen, die über neun Titel durch die Lebensgeschichte der 32jährigen Sängerin führen.

32. Text, over "I can fly to the sky": Yungchen Lhamo breaks new ground with her latest CD "Coming Home". All too often her voice had sounded weak and stifled on modern samplers. This time she chose her own media: Fretless instruments such as the cello, double bass or violin, which leave room for her pentatonic singing. In collaboration with the Belgian-French producer Hector Zazou, "Coming Home" became not just a superficial cross-over, but a genuine synthesis, instead: The composition is closely woven from beginning to end, with delicate unifying themes that connect nine titles tracing the life story of the 32-year-old singer.

   The only international women's film festival in the Federal Republic of Germany featuring the latest European film productions constitutes a regular forum for the current filmmaking of women directors from Europe.
1983 wurde die Feminale von Filmwissenschaftlerinnen gegründet. Das Festival zeigt aktuelle Produktionen, die unter der Regie einer oder mehrerer Frauen entstanden sind und die

 		   In 1983, Feminale was founded by women film scholars. The festival presents contemporary productions made under the direction of one or more women, films which:
- traditionelle und stereotype Frauenbilder in Frage stellen
- dem Sexismus in den visuellen Medien entgegenwirken
- Ausdruck der von Frauen geforderten politischen Veränderungen sind
- Utopien von Frauen artikulieren
- formale und inhaltliche Experimente wagen.

- articulate utopias conceived of by women;
- dare formal and conceptual experimentation.

   The programme includes a film-historical matinée, a retrospective, an installation, exhibitions, seminars and panel discussions on current issues and trends in films created by women.
